Reading to Learn
Our reading lessons aim to widen lower form students’ scope of knowledge and encourage an interdisciplinary mode of thinking that extends beyond the classroom.
In order to achieve this, our school has implemented “Reading across the Curriculum”, wherein members of our six faculties come up with a collection of interesting reading passages. Each selected passage is paired with a set of questions with differing levels of difficulty so as to nurture students’ thinking and reading skills. There is also an open-ended question to stimulate students’ creativity and critical thinking through reading.
All in all, we hope to help students develop a habit of reading and nurture their skill set from Form One.
